WHEN IS SUMMER SCHOOL?
Summer School will be held June 2- June 27 (one session)
Teacher workday June 1, June 28, and June 29

HOW DOES A STUDENT ENROLL?
Students will register for summer school classes by clicking on the google link provided in the attached Flyer.  Information will also be posted on the website and emailed to students and parents.  The enrollment link can be accessed directly: HERE

WHAT COURSES ARE AVAILABLE?
Credit Recovery
Enrollment due by May 21 for Credit Recovery.
Credit Recovery courses offered:

  • English - ELA 9, ELA 10, ELA 11
  • Math - Algebra I, Geometry
  • Science - Biology
  • Social Studies - World History, Modern American History, Am. Government
  • Physical Education - Health

Extended Learning 
Enrollment due by May 7 for Extended Learning.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Summer school will be offered online for students entering grades 9-12. Incoming 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students can choose from extended learning classes virtually through SJSD. Incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students can take credit recovery opportunities this summer virtually by SJSD. Enrollment for extended learning should be completed by students by May 7, 2021. Enrollment for credit recovery opportunities should be completed by May 21, 2021. Please visit with your school counselor if you have enrollment questions on credit recovery courses.

Credit Recovery will be offered virtually by SJSD in the core subject areas of English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health. Students may complete a total of one credit of credit recovery courses during summer school. These courses are transcripted as pass/fail and will not count toward the student GPA. Credit recovery will be available from June 2-June 27.

Virtual Extended Learning Coursework will be offered and guided by SJSD teachers through Canvas and will be available from June 2-June 27. Students may complete a total of one credit of extended learning courses during summer school. There will be no expense for SJSD students taking summer classes. Courses for a list of SJSD Canvas courses that could be offered. We would need to meet a minimum of 15 students enrolled in order for a class to be offered. Please refer to the current Career Planning and Education Guide (CPEG) for course descriptions and details.

Enrollment Procedures
SJSD high school and current 8th grade students can click here to enroll in In these summer school opportunities. Students outside the SJSD District must contact Mr. Shannon Nolte at 816-671-4005 or email him at shannonnolte@sjsd.k12.mo.us.

Incoming Freshmen:

 Incoming Freshmen taking summer school extended learning classes can pick up their computer June 1 from 9am to 2pm in the Lower Library- Use door #5. Teachers will be contacting summer school students on June 1 regarding their classes.
