Purpose of the Group:
The 2D Art Club meets once a week for workshops to have unique artmaking experiences not available in art class.

Purpose of the Group
The Baking Club meets once a month to try out new recipes and baking techniques. Baking Club is an open environment where all members share a love for baking and can exchange personal recipes. Students share interests with others who are also passionate about baking.
Requirements for Membership
None
Anticipated Group Activities
Students work on a recipe in groups, and get to bring home their baked goods, if they don't eat them all up during the club meeting. Coffee, tea and cocoa is available to compliment the baked items. Students are encouraged to hang out, eat and evaluate the baked goods they have produced together!

Purpose of the Group
The purpose of the Central High School Ceramics Club is to provide enrichment for ceramics students beyond what they are able to experience within the classroom. This club will provide students with the opportunity for further artistic achievement through experimentation with various ceramic materials, field trips to museums and local ceramic artist's studios, and to build camaraderie with fellow student artists.
Requirements for Membership
To qualify for membership, a student must be currently or previously enrolled in 3D Design, Advanced 3D Design, or AP 3D Design, and maintain a 70% (C) average in the class. The club sponsor may approve acceptance of a student to this club who does not meet the above stated criteria based on the students art production in the visual arts AND absence of a disciplinary record.
Anticipated Group Activities The CHS Ceramics Club will design and order t-shirts, sell hand-made holiday ornaments to raise money to fund various trips throughout the year. Events/Activities may include: participate in a Raku Firing (alternative clay firing process), visit the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St. Joseph, visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, visit MWSU Fine Arts Department, visit NWMSU Fine Arts Department, etc.

Purpose of the Group
Recreational chess, with opportunity for in-house and regional tournament competition.
Requirements for Membership
Any level of chess ability is welcome. No fees. Participation in fundraising is appreciated.

In-house tournaments (one per semester), Possible representation in K.C. tournament (in Spring), fundraising, participation in Festivus and Chairs for Charity, Election of President and Vice President, Holiday social gathering

To enjoy the culture and traditions of French-speaking countries and discover new dishes through cooking and tasting!
Requirements for Membership
The French Club is opened to all Central High School students, whether or not they are enrolled in French class. The only requirement for membership is to be in good standing with dues.
Anticipated Group Activities
The French Club meets monthly and participates in a variety of activity based on the students' interests and desires.
Meetings
Students prepare a different calendar of activities every year. Most meetings will be held in Room 213.

Purpose of the Group:
Math club meets once a week to practice and participate in the Missouri Math League contents (MOML). Math club provides an opportunity for students to explore “out of the box” math problems and develop their thinking skills. Math club is open to all students. Math club is a time where students who are interested in math can share their ideas in solving problems to be better thinkers.

Anticipated Group Activities:
Students do practice competitions 3 times a month. Students do MOML competitions once a month. Students travel to compete at Northwest Missouri State University Math League competition. Students have an opportunity to qualify for the state competition in math which is held in Columbia at the University of Missouri.

The purpose of Poetry Club is to have a comfortable environment where students can freely write poetry and stories with other students outside of intended classes for those who are interested.
