Freshman Registration Materials
First Step: Central High School counselors will present to our two feeder middle schools. These dates are as follows:
February 22nd: Truman Middle School
February 23rd: Bode Middle School
During this time, CHS counselors will provide students with course request information and a course request form (see above) for students and their adults to review. The course request form provides a list of classes that students can request to take freshmen year. Please read course descriptions and select course requests and alternates carefully since the requests will be used for students’ official schedules. Course descriptions are available in the course catalog on the CHS Counseling website. Students will need the course request form when completing the course request process. Counselors will also talk with students about their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP), high school credits, graduation requirements, athletic eligibility requirements and other ways to be successful in high school.
Second Step: Future Indian Night will be held on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. This is an open house format. It will be held at Central High School in the main gym.
Third Step: Students at both Truman and Bode Middle School will complete their high school course requests by selecting class requests in PowerSchool at their middle school buildings. The courses selected during pre-enrollment are requests only, and official schedules will not be available until August. CHS counselors will be available to answer any questions about pre-enrollment. These dates are as follows:
February 24th: Truman Course Request Day
February 24th: Bode Course Request Day
Fourth Step: In August, registration will take place for all students. At this time, students will be able to access their official schedules in PowerSchool. If first choices were not granted, then every effort will be made to give the student his/her alternate choice.
